Taken in the midday sun on a stretch of straight road in the heart of the Northern Territories in the Australian Outback.

With temperatures reaching the high 40's and with very few towns between rest stops for 100's of miles, the Australian outback is a remote but beautiful landscape.

Lyndhurst is a small town in the outback situated in the North-east of South Australia. At the time it had a population of 28 people and was the perfect remote location for viewing a total solar eclipse - one of the greatest spectacles on earth.

Uluru, also known as Ayers rock, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of Australia's most recognisable natural landmarks, sacred to Aboriginal Australians. The van pictured was my home on the road for a year.

The area of Esperance is a nature lovers dream, blessed with squeaky clean white sand beaches, turquoise waters, untouched islands and colour filled wildflower countryside.

The windmill is a common sight in the outback, becoming an icon of the Australian bush. With harsh and hot conditions and scarce water available, the windmill provides a continuous supply for people, cattle and crops.
